One day, I will learn to fence. I don't know when or how, but I will. I've always wanted to, so it's on THE LIST.
So far the List contains, in order of importance:
- Visit all Internet People/The Grand Tour
- Learn to fence
- Learn to play violin
I hear there's an awesome holodeck program you could try out for #2. You should ask for some shore leave SO I CAN KICK YOUR ASS!
I've wanted to learn how to fence, as well, but not enough to put it on a list of things to do.
I was like that, but it keeps coming up again and again in my mind.
I think the only proper solution would be trauma-induced amnesia. Perhaps from a horrible fencing accident. That'll teach you.
(apologies if the icon has been used before - this is the first time I've seen it, and needed to express my intense love for it)
Well, to be fair, he made it first, and I swiped it.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL @ icon.
I tried fencing, I lack the coordination :( It's harder than it looks!
I lack coordination, but am stubborn.
I've always wanted to learn to fence too.
When you go on your Grand Tour meet me in Chattanooga.
Haha, we can meet and I can hopefully teach you some fencing!
I will totally do this list with you.
I did a bit of it when I was in grade 5 and 6; nothing big and I forget it now, but I'd like to pick it up again. I don't expect to become good enough to perform, but I love the sound of it and have no musical way to express myself at the moment.
Ah, well then I can understand that. I started to learn during middle school but didn't stick around long enough to have anything actually "stick"
Then I tried again last year and that was just megafail..
However, I wish you luck! :)
Eh, the violin is disgustingly overrated. I'd much rather LISTEN to it than play it, but they pay me to play it. Bleh. If they didn't give me money for it, I'd have thrown it off a building by now.
I can teach you all the basic fencing moves (although i'll admit i'm terrible at epee) :)
Oooh hang gliding.
You know my stance on that grand tour business.
The violin thing---that is how I feel about piano, trumpet, cello, and guitar. D: I am good enough at flute/piccolo, but the others I have only played very minimally and I really wish that was not the case.
I used to play violin, and was actually really good at it, but I gave it up because I was too lazy to keep practicing.
I could see you as a fencer. Or doing kendo!
I love the idea of The List!
And I support the order of the items. Are you interested in parachuting out of a plane?
I actually have a terminal fear of falling. The appeal of hanggliding is falling, then NOT falling. Parachuting is just falling+.
Interesting! I'm actually really similar. I have fears with heights and it's more situated in fear of FALLING from high places.
Yeah... skydiving isn't happening for me.
I'm fine with heights if I have a good handhold or glass in front of me, but falling from 6 feet makes me wobbly.
On my list:
Do a 5 hour tour where I work
date a different guy every day of the year
do all the shit i say im gonna do but never do
Sound like a good list, mine would contain learning Shin Ken, Kayaking from England to spain via france and a number of other things. How's the cat?
Startlingly better! She's still a bit weak and such, but her turnaround has been miraculous. I am... afraid to say "she's okay" because she's so old and I know she's not ALL better... but she's eating and drinking and meowing and purring, and that's pretty damn good for a twenty-one year old cat.
That's really great. I'm glad to hear it.
I took a fencing class in high school! It was hard :/
